The calendar says it’s Fall. Cooler weather, hoodies, and hot chocolate at the HS game on Friday night.

Texas hasn’t gotten the message. Except for the Friday Night Lights, we still have Summer going strong in our neck of the woods.

I look forward to this time of year, not just because it’s the Christmas season (please don’t try to correct me, lest you get to drive with me while I blast my Amy Grant Christmas music with the A/C full blast 🙂

This time of year is when it’s manageable to be outside at 4pm in Central TX. It is also when I reflect on what I have done this year and what still needs to be completed. As I check things off, I wonder where the time has gone. So many days that were spent on tasks that seem so irrelevant to my life- so why did I give it all so much time? How can I quickly adjust and make up for lost time?

I can’t. No one can. Make up for lost time, that is.

But we can adjust. Pivot. Make new choices. Plant new seeds. Plow new rows. Not try again, but try ANEW. New ways of thinking, of eating, of BEING.

Here’s to today. Take a deep breath. Don’t be so hard on yourself (or others) and just BE!
